Weekly Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Class:

Wednesdays 10:00am – 11:00am

Classes are donation based, with a recommended donation of $10, and 100% of the donation goes to the Temenos Community

This group invites participants to experience the techniques and benefits of Yoga!  No prior experience necessary. Yoga is not just about the asanas (postures), and every class follows the Mindful Resilience model of breath work, short mindful movement, guided meditation, silent meditation, and a moment of gratitude.  This predictability is part of what makes this class friendly to those dealing with trauma, PTSD, and recovery.

Recently, research has shown that Yoga practices can also reduce autonomic sympathetic activation, muscle tension, pain and other physical symptoms, blood pressure, emotional distress, improve neuroendocrine and hormonal activity, and increase quality of life. Each class will have a different focus, often as part of a theme for the month or season.
