From kindness begins acceptance.
How many times have you set a New Year’s resolution around food or your body only to feel frustrated or like a failure by February? It can be especially difficult during the holiday season to escape diet talk, the pressure to lose weight, and the illusion that we will only be happy when we look a certain way. But what if this time around your New Year’s resolution wasn’t based on changing your body or putting restrictions on what you eat, but learning how to develop a kind relationship with your body?
Jennifer Kreatsoulas, PhD, E-RYT 200, RYT 500 and I invite you to join us at the YogaLife Institute and begin your own personal body kindness project.
We, too, have fallen into the trap of setting a resolution to change what we think is wrong with us. Through our own yoga practices, however, we have experienced the power of positive intention and how it can lead to self-empowerment, compassion, and kindness toward our bodies. We believe body kindness is a powerful first step in the process of acceptance and love.
Together, we will:
• Explore the difference between resolution and intention.
• Share a gentle flowing yoga practice to cultivate kindness and curiosity about our bodies (no yoga experience needed).
• Set a body kindness intention for the holiday season.
• Identify 3 practical ways to support your body kindness intention.
This special workshop includes journaling, asana practice, discussion, breathwork, and support from a likeminded group of individuals who want to take steps to cultivate a kind relationship with their bodies.
The New Year, New Intention workshop kicks off our upcoming 2017 series on body kindness. Stay tuned!
